B.o.b.b.y. H.u.t.c.h.e.r.s.o.n. - 'S.o.l.o. / Q.u.a.r.t.e.t.' (1982)
Bobby Hutcherson (Vibraphone, Marimba, Bass Marimba, Chimes, Xylophone, Bells, Percussion [Boo-bam]), Herbie Lewis (B), Billy Higgins (D), McCoy Tyner (P)
If you dig Time for Tyner, the B side of this is the same quartet except with a different drummer. The A side is some one man gamelan orchestra type sh*t, starring Mr. Hutcherson. Anything with a bass marimba is at least worth checking out, I say. Also, there's that album cover. Are those giant venetian blinds in the background? Where are we and what's with all these handbaskets? I bet you never saw a hellscape with venetian blinds before, like some sort of private eye's office of the damned.
