outstanding record by this chicago rock outfit, featuring the tremendous drummer of pittsburgh 90s indie rock heros, hurl ...there may be hope for rock music in 2018 after all, kids... buy it here from their bandcamp to show support if you dig it... i hope these guys get a buzz going because they slay.

here we have a brit pop record made by a trio of teenage girls.
i read a bunch of year end best of lists on the internets in 2017. this one of artists' reflections on daily bandcamp was one of my favorites. that's how i discovered these twee teens.
i really feel like no experience in life is beyond the reach of metaphor. similarly, i doubt there are very many human emotions that are beyond the reach of music. often times people will use the phrase, beyond words. not too much is beyond music, in my experience. i find that i definitely go where gravity takes me a lot. and yet, there exists so much music outside of the spectrum of what you might gravitate towards normally. these gals make music that's a lot happier and a lot more sentimental than a lot of stuff i typically listen to, and ya know what, that's ok by me at the moment.
