I would love for someone to explain to me sometime some ideas as to why the dutch excell so much at death metal.

A reviewer described this band as Death on cocaine. I like that. I find this group's subsequent material to be unlistenable due to their penchant for technically progressive wankery... but this one has some bite to it.

From Russia with love. I read a review that accused this record of lifting riffs from early megadeth... while that remark did make me curious... i am *not* going to start listening to megadeth. i have my limits.

For old school death metal fiends, this is a 'thank you, captain obvious'. It was important for me to post the classics for context here, amidst what else was being done in the pursuit of extreme heaviness at this time.

every bit as menacing as the album art suggests. evil death thrash with song titles like 'lock up your children' and 'crying for death'. beware.

the blueprint that changed the world of heavy music forever... perhaps the greatest death metal album of all time.

death grind featuring the rhythm section of morbid angel, released posthumously... the same year as altars of madness... get it for those blast beats!
