I.n.v.o.c.a.t.o.r. - 'E.x.c.u.r.s.i.o.n. D.e.m.i.s.e.' (1991)
Meanwhile in the Danish underground, evil tech thrash was happening... and yes the music is as intriguing as the album art, in case you were wondering.

One of my all time favorite thrash records hands down... the vocals and the riffs are sooo f%$#ing good on this... Texas thrash recorded at Florida's legendary Morrisound Studios by Scott Burns, the architect of the Floridian death metal sound... dig it.

Morbid Angel's second studio album is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders mastering their craft laying down the blueprint for all who would follow... yes I have watched a documentary on this album on youtube (well, i watched half of it anyway) ...and i can say it is mildly interesting if you're cutious... my favorite takeaway i learned was that the guitarist used different guitar effects for every single guitar solo on the record... that level of obsession comes through in the music the closer you listen... yet the music retains its absolutely visceral face value to this day.

It wasn't enough for this band to more or less invent the entire genre of death metal... Death's late front man and death metal god Chuck Schuldiner had to push himself further. On this, the band's fourth studio album, Chuck basically reformed his band with all new members from the record he'd released the previous year (!!!) and recorded this masterpiece, Human. This record more or less invented the sub-genre known as technical death metal. Dig it.

Despite the album title, rest assured this is *not* Christian death metal... this band formed in 1987 and they were so hungry that they moved to Florida a year after they formed from their home town of Buffalo NY to be part of the emergent death metal scene there. This record is pure Floridian thrashing death at its finest, musicianship, performance, songwriting, energy, production... all stellar. Dig it.

When I started getting amazed by Christian thrash, I knew I had spent too much time down the rabbit hole... or had I? You be the judge. This record keeps me coming back like jumping jesus on a pogo stick on easter sunday.
_Alibi.
Bananas Polish tech thrash with... a lady guitarist :-o. (Not a common thing in thrash as far as I can tell...)

Canadian old school tech death thrash that is every bit as cartoonish as the jetsons / flintstones font choices on the cover might suggest.
